May 24, 2006
CINCINNATI, OH - Pro Mach, Inc. announced today that it has acquired Allpax Products, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of sterilization, material handling and automated control systems for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
With the acquisition of Allpax, Pro Mach adds retorting and sterilization capabilities to its diverse packaging portfolio. Allpax provides a complete range of products and solutions for all processes and applications related to food, beverage and pharmaceutical sterilization needs, including spray, steam-air, water immersion, steam, rotational, vertical, horizontal, and research and development retorts. Allpax also provides advanced material handling and automated control systems and software, including solutions for unique challenges related to pouches and fragile containers.
Allpax has developed a strong reputation for developing consultative relationships with its customers and providing integrated solutions for the entire retort room, including all handling and sterilization needs. Allpax offers the industry's most comprehensive range of products and solutions for the entire retort, sterilization and material handling process.
Pro Mach, one of the largest providers of packaging products, services and integrated solution sets in North America, continues to add capabilities that complement its existing product portfolio and allow it to better serve its diverse customer base of consumer and industrial goods companies. Earlier this year Pro Mach expanded its existing capabilities in robotic case packing, identification, labeling and marking services, and horizontal thermoform, fill and seal equipment.
"We're pleased to welcome the Allpax team to Pro Mach," said John W. Paxton, Sr., Pro Mach Chairman and CEO. "They are proven leaders and experts in their industry, and their commitment to delivering exceptional value and high quality solutions on time that meet or exceed customer needs complements our philosophy. We're enthusiastic about the potential to better serve our existing customers and new opportunities in the growing food processing and pharmaceutical markets they bring to Pro Mach."
Allpax, which is based in Covington, Louisiana, will become a new division of Pro Mach within its Primary Packaging Business Unit. Pro Mach now has 10 divisions within its Primary Packaging, End-of-Line Packaging and Identification and Tracking Business Units, all represented by leading brands in their market segment.
The Allpax management team will join Pro Mach and continue to guide the new division. They will report to Bud Lane, President of Pro Mach's Primary Packaging Business Unit.
"Pro Mach and Allpax share a common customer base," said Mr. Lane. "The retorting or sterilization process is adjacent to the primary packaging and often the end-of-line processes for many of our customers. Together, with our combined expertise and wide range of products and services, we can better serve these customers and provide them with consistent high quality performance and value across many crucial areas of their packaging line. This is a win-win for our customers."
"Our focus has always been solving our customers' issues so they can provide the best product to their customers," added Allpax President Steve Hudson. "We welcome the opportunity to be part of Pro Mach. Its combined strength and resources will allow us to expand our capabilities, continue the growth we've enjoyed, and build on our tradition of providing the most effective solutions for our customer's unique needs."
