Can Loaders Overview

As part of our line of advanced-technology retort room equipment, Allpax has designed and produced a series of Can Loaders for retorts using square and rectangular baskets. These automated loaders form the cans, jars or bottles into a layer pattern, then sweep the pattern into the retort basket for sterilization. Allpax Unloaders perform the reverse action by sweeping the layered containers from the basket and dispatching the retorted containers to the labeling operation.

The range of machinery includes semi-automatic operation of our 200X model, involving operator pick and place of divider sheets between layers, and manual positioning of product baskets - to the fully automated operation of our 400X model, in which all functions including conveyor integration with shuttles and drones for basket delivery to the retorts is accomplished by automated control.

Like all of our material handling equipment, the Allpax Line of Can Loaders is fabricated using laser-cut 304 stainless steel. The machine instrumentation cabinet is NEMA-4 and is made of 304 stainless steel. Both the instrumentation and hydraulic lift are made from severe-duty components.

The high-speed Loaders (400X models) utilize servo motors for accurate positioning and precise sweep control. Software controls and container-specific-machine settings allow for changeover of most containers in less than 30 minutes.

Allpax loaders are designed to accept baskets from a variety of retort vendors, including FMC, Stock, Lubeca and others.
