R&D Retorts Overview

Allpax has designed and produced a wide array of sterilization machines for research and development. Our industry-standard 2402 design (shown) was built to meet the needs of flexibility and transportability in a laboratory environment - but with the same severe-duty design and components found in our production machines.

Our R&D machines can be ordered and configured to generate any and all of the sterilization processes available in production machines, including spray, steam-air, saturated steam and water immersion. Rotational and static processes are also configurable in an Allpax R&D Retort.

Allpax R&D Retorts can be ordered in diameters as small as 24" - all the way up to production diameters (72" / 1800mm) - in one or two-basket lengths. These machines are built using 304 Stainless Steel materials.

Customer options include automatic or manual doors, and either the swing-open door or the space-saving Allpax Orbit door. Depending on the machine weight, the customer may specify the retort frame mounted on heavy duty casters for easy transport, or skid-mounted for forklift transportation in the laboratory.

The Allpax Monitor -R&D software module is a fully automatic retort control system, giving the researcher total flexibility in process design. Monitor has been designed to meet the validation requirements of 21 CFR, Part 11 for electronic records.
