The RIBBI - the Retort Basket Indexer - is a robot that removes the retort operator from the position of pushing and pulling heavy baskets to load and unload the retort. It also eliminates costly forklift loading mishaps, which damage both the retort basket and the retort door.

With today's aging population, the RIBBI takes the physical aspects of retort operating and converts it into a push-button operation. Even if a retort is 4, 5, 6, or even 10 baskets long, RIBBI does the job.

With a RIBBI, your retort operators won't have to use a basket hook, or go into the retort to get the last basket. When forklift transport is used to move baskets, the RIBBI platform offers an easy target for forklift drivers to place and pick-up retort baskets.

This new robot from Allpax is designed to bridge the gap between a fully automated ABRS system and manual retort loading operations.

The machine can be configured to work with most horizontal retorts, whether the door is swing-open or guillotine. It can also be designed to accept baskets from push carts now, and conveyors as a future upgrade to plant automation.
