Spray Retorts Overview

Allpax Spray Retorts have become the most popular overpressure process retort design with our customers. These machines are built with severe-duty components and are favorites for processing pouches, trays, and bottles. The Allpax Spray Retort utilizes a high-volume pump with an array of spray nozzles strategically located to create even temperature distribution. Overriding air pressure is used to maintain container integrity during sterilization. Pressure cooling is accomplished in the machine by using a water showering system.

We manufacture a full range of production-size Spray Retorts, from 42" / 1100mm to the Jumbo 72" / 1800mm diameters. Allpax Spray Retorts are available in lengths from 1 basket to 8 basket capacity.

Customer options include the addition of a saturated steam sterilization process and a flooded cooling process. The customer may also specify single or double-door retorts, automatic or manually-operated doors, and either swing-open doors or the space-saving Allpax Orbit door. The machines are fabricated in 304 stainless steel, and the customer may specify 316 grade stainless steel materials for fabrication.

Allpax retorts come equipped with the Allpax Monitor fully automatic retort control system. Monitor has been designed to meet the validation requirements of 21 CFR, Part 11 for electronic records. Contact Allpax with your container sizes and specifications for a free retort capacity analysis.
